Development Bank of Nigeria, French Development Agency (AFD) funding

Evaluation of a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) credit line made available by the French Development Agency to the Development Bank of Nigeria.

Between 2015 and 2021, AFD, together with other international lenders, supported the creation of the Development Bank of Nigeria. This national development bank was established to act as a financial intermediary to local financial institutions in order to increase the availability and access to finance for MSMEs.
HORUS carried out the ex-post evaluation of the French Development Agency’s support. It has been conducted using both the five criteria recommended by OECD/DAC for the evaluation of development projects and specific evaluation questions proposed by AFD.
