Market analysis of potential climate finance funding opportunities for Vision Fund International (VFI), and draft of an actionable plan and recommendations to access new sources of climate-related financing.
With a global footprint in the developing world and predominantly fragile and rural contexts, VisionFund clients and World Vision beneficiaries face increasing risk to their livelihoods and wellbeing from changing climatic conditions. VFI already has a variety of climate-supporting solutions among its credit, savings, and insurance products and had undertaken an external consultancy to identify VFI’s strengths, opportunities, and potential priorities in pursuing a climate finance agenda.
The next step, on which HORUS was mobilized, was to carry out a thorough analysis of the funding opportunities for green inclusive finance that are aligned with the organization’s priorities, and design an actionable plan for pursuing these resources.
The services provided by HORUS included :
- Sector Mapping: Building on VisionFund’s previous work in developing an inclusive green finance strategy, HORUS carried out a market mapping and analysis of funding opportunities aligned with VFI’s priorities;
- Recommendations: Based on the sector mapping, HORUS developed a series of recommendations on the steps, approaches, products and partnerships needed to develop or utilise, in order to access new sources of climate-related financing.
